The child and babysitting safety (CABS) program are a community education program that covers child safety and basic care techniques for infants and children. The course is designed for pre-teens and teenagers who may be responsible for watching younger siblings, neighbors, and relatives children. The program will teach the importance of responsibility, reliability, proper discipline, age-appropriate activities, recognizing an emergency, emergency action steps, personal safety, fire, water and food safety, infant care and basic first aid and choking management. The course will help increase the self-esteem and self-confidence of potential babysitters. We will also review marketing and learning to be assertive. The attendees will receive a CABS student handbook that provides fundamental information for the babysitters.
Bring lunch, a water bottle and a snack, Pencil, notebook or paper.
