Adventure Zone is a full day program for children 5-12 years of age. Designed for the working parent(s) who need affordable child care during the summer. Adventure Zone will offer a rich program experience for participants. Activities include, but not limited to; arts and crafts, sports, tournaments, field trips, swimming once a week (Agawam State Pool), environmental activities, guest speakers and much more. Participants are divided into age appropriate groups. Some of the benefits of attending this are a sense of adventure, building self esteem, socialization, interaction with peers, increasing creativity and personal growth. Participants should bring own lunch, snack and drink. Lunches should be brought in a small cooler with ice pack. Refrigeration is not available. Water will be available for drinks. Will visit Municipal Playground’s Spray Park
Field Trips
Field trip expenses will be the responsibility of the participant. Some of our destinations for this summer will be to Nomads, Brownstone Park, Lake Compounce and Sonny’s Place. Participants will have a field trip once a week starting in July.
Junior Leaders
Children who are 13 and older may apply for volunteering as a Junior Leader.
Volunteer application must be completed prior to May 31. Will only accept 5-6 volunteers per session. Junior Leaders are responsible for their own field trip fees.

Parent/Guardian Orientation Meeting
Get informed about the program before you send your child to Adventure Zone. Learn everything you need to know from activities being offered, field trip and swimming routine, volunteer roles, staff roles and parent responsibilities. Receive parent handbook at orientation, if not attending handbooks are mailed the first week in June.

Staff attends ten hours of training, are First Aid/CPR certified and have Criminal Background checks. The program maintains a 1:10 staff/participant ratio.
The staff consist two co-directors who are 21 years of age or older and 8 - 10 leaders who are 18 years of age and over, who have experience working with children.
